Beer InCider turns green

Aug 22 2018

Beer InCider is really proud to announce that our 2018 festival will be our most environmentally sustainable. Passionate about the earth and keen to minimise our impact, our festival is making significant investments in our green credentials. We’re delighted to announce a number of methods by which we are becoming more environmentally sustainable including:

  • reusable 300ml plastic pot glasses that have been sourced locally from Globelet and manufactured in New Zealand
  • no plastic straws - sip, don't suck!
  • no plastic knives, forks, spoons or plates - we’ll use recyclable cutlery and packaging when serving food
  • introducing organic bins to capture compost and food waste
  • dedicated recycling bins for plastic and glass used at the festival.

Festival Founder Marty Keetels said his team was “proud to be creating a culture of minimising environmental impact and promoting sustainability."

"As a team, we believe in our responsibility to act in the best interests of our planet. We know our patrons share our passion.”

Beer InCider has also partnered with Translink to provide free public transport to and from the festival. Simply show your pre-purchased ticket or festival wristband when boarding any Translink bus or Queensland Rail City Network train service. Free travel begins four hours before gates open and concludes four hours after the festival each day. Not available on Airtrain, CityCat, ferry or tram services.
